Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book?

There are two ways to go about booking. If you’re sure of your idea, fill out an inquiry here. If you are unsure, have questions before booking, or want a completely custom piece, we suggest booking a consultation to have a one-on-one with Mike prior to booking.

How is my tattoo designed and when can I see it?

Mike Dee will take your inquiry and combine it with his style to create a unique draft for the day of your appointment. Upon your arrival you will sit with Mike and go over the design, and it is at this point that you can make any changes or additions. Please keep in mind that Mike is an experienced and talented artist who makes strategic design choices for the overall betterment and longevity of your piece. We ask that you are open minded and not too firm on what you want tattooed, so he can provide you with an original, unique-to-you design.

How long will my tattoo take and how much will it be?

With the large scale pieces that Mike typically does, your tattoo will likely require a full day, half day, or multiple day session. This is determined based on two factors: your final design and how well your experience is going while being tattooed. If it is uncomfortable, requires breaks, etc. it may take longer to complete the piece. Further, with hyper-detailed tattoos, the process is generally more time-consuming. Typically Mike will want a second session for any piece to add white highlights, take photos, and finish any portions that need to be touched up after the initial healing process. You will learn more about what your tattoo will entail once we respond to your submitted inquiry form. If you want to know all of this prior to booking, we suggest booking a consultation on the “consultations” page.

Pricing is based on the session(s) required for your tattoo. Mike’s full day session is $1400, with the option to extend your session into the nighttime to complete as much as possible in one day for $1600 total. When we respond to your inquiry we will provide you with how many estimated sessions you’ll need to complete your piece, so that you can prepare your schedule and finances. *If you’re looking for a very small tattoo, Mike’s minimum is $150.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

We suggest eating prior to your arrival. Make sure your skin has been well moisturized and taken care of leading up to your appointment. Bring snacks, water, sports drinks for electrolytes, headphones or a book - anything you think you may need for a long day of tattooing. Additionally, dress for your tattoo. If you’re getting a leg piece, bring shorts. Back piece, bring a zip up jacket to wear backwards. Feel free to ask about attire for your placement in your inquiry if you’re unsure on what to wear.

How do I take care of my tattoo?

Mike Dee will instruct you on how to care for your specific tattoo based on location and skin type on the date of your appointment.

Can I use a numbing agent?

Numbing cream can be used but please read this completely before deciding to use this product. For many people, numbing cream can take the edge off but it can also effect the texture of the skin. It is also a product that does not work if not applied properly, and once it wears off can make it impossible to continue through your session. Using numbing agents also add at least 2 hours to your session. Mike Dee has specific numbing creams and agents he’d prefer for his clients to use, so if you are leaning toward going this route, please say so in your inquiry or booking form and we will send you detailed instruction on what to use and how to use it.
